Your weight goal
Your goal: 181 lb → 165 lb in 3 months. This is an estimate, not a promised result.
Your calorie needs may differ from this example. How the estimate works.
The example uses U.S. adults' self-reported averages: 181 lb current and 165 lb personal "ideal" weight (Gallup, 2021–2025). These are survey averages, not a medically recommended weight for you.
How the calorie estimate works
This is an estimate, not a promise. It assumes you eat the full daily calories shown, including other food and drinks. Your results may differ. The starting numbers are an example, not a personal recommendation.
Three inputs cannot determine your individual calorie needs. This simple version uses your current weight with fixed example assumptions: age 40, height 5 ft 6.2 in, light activity (1.375), and the midpoint of the male and female Mifflin-St Jeor equations. These are assumptions, not facts about you.
It subtracts a rough planned deficit using 3,500 calories per pound and 30.4375 days per month, capped at 1,000 calories per day. The daily budget never goes below 1,500 calories. These limits do not establish what is safe or sufficient for an individual. When a goal exceeds them, the page flags a longer estimated window instead of promising the requested deadline. Weight change is not linear.
The weight chart illustrates this same model over your chosen window, assuming you eat the full daily calorie budget. It uses fixed estimated maintenance and a straight-line trend, stops losing weight at your target, and does not account for changing metabolism or day-to-day fluctuations. Shuffling to a smaller meal leaves room for other food; it does not make the chart predict faster weight loss.
Automatic suggestions keep the listed three-meal total between 1,200 calories and the daily goal. Choose also shows larger orders with red warnings; picking one may put your day over goal and pause the weight chart. Use remaining room for other food as needed; eating less than your goal is not a recommendation to speed up weight loss. A calorie match does not ensure a balanced diet or meet your nutrient needs.
