Calculator data stored on your device
DriveThruDeficit.com saves profile and planner settings in your browser's local storage so the calculator can remember them on the same browser and device. The calculator's code does not submit those saved settings to this website's server. You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Campaign labels kept for this visit
The site keeps short campaign labels in your browser's session storage to remember where a visit came from. When analytics is on, these labels can be sent to Google with page visits and tool actions. We exclude advertising click identifiers, keyword text, calculator inputs and meal selections from these labels.
Google Analytics and your opt-out
Google Analytics loads by default unless you have opted out, enabled Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, or are in a region where we ask for permission first. In the European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland, or when the location check fails, it stays off until you turn it on in the footer's Analytics settings. There is no arrival popup. It measures page visits, scrolling and deliberate tool actions. Google receives page and device information and uses analytics cookies to distinguish visits. Private, admin and preview pages are excluded.
Our Google Analytics events exclude profile values, calorie and protein targets, meal selections, and calculator search text. The page addresses we send to Google omit query parameters and fragments. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our site configuration. We do not load advertising pixels.
To opt out, open "Analytics settings" in the footer and select "Turn analytics off." Every calculator still works. An opt-out stays until you change it or clear site data. An explicit opt-in lasts 180 days. Turning analytics off stops further collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies; it does not delete data already sent to Google. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track also turn it off. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google's data handling.
Optional usage recordings
Microsoft Clarity helps us find confusing buttons and page layouts by replaying clicks, scrolling and page changes. Recordings are on by default for U.S. and Australian visitors, unless you have turned them off or a privacy protection below blocks them. We do not show an arrival permission pop-up anywhere. Elsewhere, or if we cannot check the location, recordings stay off unless you open "Recording settings" in the footer and select "Allow recordings." The calculators work either way.
Cloudflare uses the connection's country to choose this setting. Our browser check receives only "default-on" or "ask," not your location or IP address. We do not save an automatic default as your agreement. An earlier Google Analytics choice does not give recording permission where permission is needed.
Page text, food photos, meal names, menu nutrition, restaurant logos and meal choices are visible in recordings. You can search, choose meals and change calculator settings without stopping the recording. Typed entries and dropdown values stay hidden. We also hide personal calorie and protein goals, weight results and the graphics that could reveal those results. You still see your own results normally on the site.
Saved calculator settings do not stop a recording; the same masking protects restored personal results. We exclude private and preview pages, and addresses or referring addresses containing unrecognized extra information. Known tool filters, shared-meal links and campaign links are allowed, but their search, filter, shared-meal, campaign and click-ID values are removed from recording URLs. These specific exclusions can still leave some visits unrecorded.
When recordings are on, Microsoft receives the visible public food content and planner choices described above, the safe page address, clicks, scrolling, screen and browser details, timing, and the network information needed to receive the data, including your IP address. We do not send custom user identities, personal weight values, targets or search text. Meal choices are not added to Google Analytics events. Advertising consent is denied, and we do not connect Clarity to an advertising account. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement and how Clarity hides page content.
Clarity's first-party cookies, _clck and _clsk, help connect permitted visits and page views. These cookies can last up to one year and one day, respectively. An explicit "Allow recordings" choice lasts 180 days, after which the regional default applies again. A "No recordings" choice stays in this browser until you change it or clear site data. Clarity normally retains recordings for 30 days. Favorite recordings, a sample of recordings and heatmaps can be kept for up to nine months. See Clarity cookies and Clarity's data retention details.
Open "Recording settings" in the footer and choose "No recordings" to turn recordings off. "Turn analytics off" also stops recordings. We respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track for Clarity. Turning recordings off stops new recording uploads and removes accessible Clarity cookies; it does not erase data already sent to Microsoft. A request already sent may finish. If you later allow recordings again, reload the page to begin a new recording.
Hosting and delivery
Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures browser visits and page speed without analytics cookies. Cloudflare adds one measurement script automatically; it currently excludes EU visitors. Its browser counts are separate from hosting requests, which also include bots and scans. We do not use request totals as visitor counts.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes traffic to customer websites, which can include IP addresses, traffic-routing data, system configuration information, and other request information used to deliver and protect the service. Its handling of end-user data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
External links and future services
Restaurant source links lead to third-party sites with their own privacy practices. If additional analytics, advertising, affiliate, email, account, or payment services are added, this policy will be updated to explain their data handling.
Clearing saved calculator settings
Browser controls can clear this site's local storage, session storage, and cookies. Clearing local storage removes saved calculator settings and privacy choices. Google Analytics and Clarity return to their regional defaults, subject to browser privacy signals and the protections above. Saved campaign labels expire with the tab's session or when session storage is cleared.
A public contact address is not yet listed. The site owner must add one before direct privacy requests can be received through this policy.
